You are in the unique position to gauge the strength of opposition to the merger of ICAEW and CIPFA. From what you have observed, do you believe that the ICAEW members in favour of the merger will be greater than the 66% threshold needed.
I know that in 1990 the ICAEW had 61% in favour, I am worried that due to the passage of time (15 years) and changes in global accountancy the 66% threshold will be breached this time.

The vast majority of the people that have expressed an opinion to me, are against the merger.
ReplyDeleteThat being said, I have no idea as to what the turnout will be.
The vote for the subs hike (around 10000) was dismal.
I hope that the majority of the members of the ICAEW care enough to vote.
