Originally dedicated to fighting the proposed merger of the ICAEW with CIMA and CIPFA, this site now provides news about the ICAEW

Do you think the ICAEW rebranding was money well spent?

The Silence Is Deafening

I emailed the ICAEW on the 10th of April asking them how much the free editions of Accountancy, that we paid for, cost us.

I have yet to receive a reply.

Therefore I sent them this reminder today:

"I wrote to you over a week ago, asking how much it cost to send the membership a free copy of Accountancy.

I have not received a reply.

Please advise when I may expect one.

Many thanks.

Kind regards

Ken Frost
"

If I receive a response I will post it here.

By keeping quiet, they hope that you will go away!!!!!! And you will as you neither have the resources nor the money to fight them and they know it!!!!! ICAEW can and will wear you out!!!!

  2. I guessed that this was the "strategy".

    We shall see.

  3. Good luck. I never usually bother voting in Institute elections but this has galvanised me to speak to all my colleagues and vote no.

  4. Thanks

Please do point your fellow accountants in the direction of this site.

  5. Have you or Jeff Wooler thought about collecting proxies from NO voters when the time comes.I'm sure I recall that happening on one of the earlier abortive merger attempts.

  6. Anon,

    Thanks for your suggestion.

However, I am not quite sure what you mean.

    Please could you elaborate?

    Thanks

  7. If voting by proxy is permitted we appoint you to vote on our behalf directing you to vote against. Advertise it widely, pick up a big block of votes against in one place, including those who might otherwise just bin their voting papers.

  8. Thank you for the nomination as your proxy.

I suspect it needs to be done a little more formally than this.

Not sure how on that point.

    Suggestions please?

Re advertsing the site and hence the idea of proxy; that is a combination of visitors telling their colleagues to visit the site and, I guess, the media picking up the story.

Re the latter, I have made the main media organs aware eg Acccountancy, FT etc.

Maybe others could do the same please?

    Thanks for your help.

    Ken
